“Crazy is Contagious” is a humorous, tragic original collaborative performance art piece that explores multi-dimensional aspects of personality and interpersonal familial relationships. Unapologetically southern, It deals with schizophrenia, child neglect and abuse, addiction, and the family secrets that make us all sick.
Told through the voices of multiple family members, “Crazy is Contagious” is a brave, humorous, honest look at mental illness, and family relationships. It is ultimately a story of unconditional love, redemption, and forgiveness.
Gina Stewart is a professional actress, musician and composer. Her television appearances include The Walking Dead, Outer Banks, American Gothic and Rectify. She has appeared in regional theatre as Mama Maybelle in the June Carter Story and Off-Broadway in “Good ol Girls”, and recently appeared as AnneMarie in Charlotte Conservatory Theatre’s A Doll’s House, Part 2. She performs regularly with her bands “Doubting Thomas” and “Channeling Granny.”
