BOOM Performance:
Creating Exposure Through The Arts –
“Behind The Ink:”
Interdisciplinary

Behind The Ink, an interactive, multi-disciplinary visual arts project, showcases impactful images and an award-winning short film documentary created and filmed by our teen students and staff which features people from various races, cultures, ethnicities, and age groups that will tell stories behind their tattoos. In addition, we explore similarities amongst various identity groups and focus on the Diversity and Inclusion aspects when sharing dialogue across differences. Through a series of photo workshops, we captured digital images and video interviews of professional athletes, stay-at-home moms and corporate professionals, celebrities, college students, grandmothers, creatives, tattoo artists, and those who all have one thing in common … Ink (tattoos).
