Artists and the public are invited to create their own one-of-a-kind trading cards, with one side featuring their “artist stats” and the other being an original work of art. Trading is encouraged throughout the festival, and the option to purchase trading cards directly from artists is also available. Artists take turns manning the Artist Trading Card Booth throughout the duration of the festival, encouraging people to create and trade cards.
Emily Little has been an active Charlotte visual artist for over five years and is back for her third year participating in the annual BOOM Festival. Throughout the year, she typically creates small-scale paintings, but she uses BOOM as her annual collaboration with many other Charlotte artists, enjoying the sense of community found.
