Ayinde the Drum Maker 
The performance will be traditional west African drumming with one proficient African dancer.
I have been honored by being taught the art of drumming by the original drum masters. The first generation of African drummers in North America. Mr. Kolowole Balogun (Master drummer of the Chuck Davis Dance Company, original lead drummer of this now world-famous dance company).
Currently, I am a part of the Charlotte Ballet Community Engagement program where dance is shared with the local community school children who take dance instruction in local community centers after school.
Additionally, I work with a local Charlotte based non-profit, Expand Movement which uses dance as part of therapy for the special needs community we serve. Along with this, I am a busy member of the local artist community here in Charlotte. I often contribute my drumming mastery to two local dance companies, Movement Migration, (Kim Jones, UNCC) and to Mufukaworks Dance (Elsie Mufuka, CMS).
