The art community tragically lost a great one this year. The incredible Luvleeh, Leandrea Juanita Hill, joined the ancestors in February. Luvleeh was a PRESENCE in the art community at large, but especially in the poetry community.

BOOM 2024 seemed to be the Luvleeh show, she produced her first one woman show, The Calm Chaos, which was amazing and a huge success, bringing audience after audience to tears as she lovingly shared the joy and challenges of caring for her aging mother.

And if that wasn’t enough she generously hosted on the Intersection stage dressed as a fairy. She never met a stranger and made everyone that interacted with her from her audiences, to other artists, to friends and family feel more full of life just from a brief interaction.

Luvleeh carries a generous spirit, immense talent for poetry and performance and a smile with her into the afterlife. BOOM will never be the same without her, Charlotte poetry will never be the same without her, Charlotte will never be the same without her. At BOOM we feel so honored that she shared her authentic self on our stages, we only wish we had more time.

Luvleeh was truly lovely.
