The Again/+
The show presented for the 2022 BOOM Festival is a prepared set that is both spontaneous and engaging! The actors of the evening will receive suggestions and ideas from the audience, and on-the fly, without prior knowledge, deliver on whatever type of scene or idea they receive. The evening will have three different types of improvisatory work, and each to be played out uniquely. No two shows are the exact same! A poetry reading will also be presented.
The Again/+ (pronounced ‘The Again And Or Plus’) is the consequence of local artist Matthew Barnes. It is an acting project that explores the varied ways an actor can exhibit their craft in new and interesting ways while being grounded in tradition. Long form narrative improv is at the heart of what they do, but many shows are punctuated by other arts, such as poetry and stand-up.
