More about each performance below…
Kuchipudi is one of India’s major classical dance forms, each rich in culture and storytelling. In our performance, we will present a devotional hymn dedicated to Goddess Durga, revered as the embodiment of Shakti(strength), divine feminine power. This piece tells the story of the triumph of good over evil. To conclude, the audience will have the unique opportunity to witness a traditional presentation featuring dancing on a brass plate, showcasing intricate rhythms and movements.
I am Pallavi Madabushi, a dedicated performer, choreographer, and instructor with over 20 years of experience in Kuchipudi. I take great joy in both performing and passing on my knowledge to younger generations in Charlotte. I founded the Pallavi Academy of Kuchipudi Dance (PAKD) in Charlotte, North Carolina, which is a leading institution for Kuchipudi in the Charlotte area that provides in-depth training for students of all levels.
