Nia J will perform a selection of songs from her 2024 debut album Melomania, winner of the Queen City Nerve’s Best in the Nest, 2024 Album of the Year critics’ pick. In addition to these songs, she will perform unreleased singles that she will release shortly after the festival.
Nia J, one of the rising voices of the Charlotte music scene, embodies a classic sensibility in her take on modern pop. In both her first EP Rabbit Hole (2021) to her debut album Melomania (2024), Nia J showcases deft vocal performances of simple lyrics that are at once deeply personal and universally relatable. Collaborating with staples of the Charlotte scene like Ike Byers (BEKI), Te’Jani Inuwa, and Tré Ahmad, Nia has quickly established herself as a key voice in the Charlotte pop scene.
