North Carolina Brazilian Arts Project
Choreographed by Alma Campuzano and Adriana Blanco, this piece is set to Kaê Guajajara‘s “ESSA RUA É MINHA,” a song about the colonization, appropriation, and oppression is still prevalent throughout Brazil and the world — including and especially in carnival.
The mission of North Carolina Brazilian Arts Project (NCBAP) is to enrich our community with African Brazilian art forms such as Samba, Capoeira, African Brazilian dance, and percussion.Through our various programs for adults, kids, and families, we hope to promote intercultural and intergenerational exchange, build healthy communities, instill joy, and foster inclusivity through community performances, shows, gigs, classes, workshops, and events. We teach classes in Charlotte, Winston-Salem, and the Triangle area, with performances across the Southeast.
