“Also/And” is an artistic envisioning of the multiplicities of Black Womanhood, authenticating the veracity of the diverse ways we exist in society. Through a lens of pride, care, and unapologetic declaration, “Also/And” stakes claim in the beautiful “muchness” of Black Women: “I can ALSO, ALSO, ALSO/AND, AND, AND!”

Ife Michelle Dance is an NC-based arts brand that uses dance as a means of embodied exploration, celebration, and liberation. Through classes, performances and collaborative artistic work, IMD seeks to access and depict a diverse presence of Black, Black Woman/Femme and Black Cultural realities through dance works.
