“Becoming: A Story of Transformation” explores the inherent cycles of womanhood in which we are, transforming and becoming. Becoming seeks to explore those cycles through the lens of the Black woman: exploring our unique evolutions rooted in our experiences, realities and ways of being.
Ife Michelle is a native of Charlotte, NC, who began her dance training through the North Carolina Performing Arts Academy at age 7. She continues to progress her work in the dance field as a choreographer, dancer and MFA Dance Candidate at Duke University.
Through community classes/workshops, choreography and performances, Ife and her company break stereotypes about what dancers look like. They tell stories about Black womanhood and create a space for those with the aptitude and passion for dance!
