BOOM Performance: DRC Cheerleading: Cheerleading & Dance

DRC is a competitive and performance team. Through its program the participants serve in community service projects, instilling Diamonds Community Awareness and Involvement as an imperative for positive individual growth and development. The DRC’s competition season is very dynamic, and the group has claimed numerous awards and recognitions in both cheer and dance.

DRC Cheerleading and Dance was founded in 2015 by Cynthia and Laura Ndelo who are from the Democratic Republic of Congo and attended North Carolina A&T University. Laura was a cheerleader while attending college, and she drew on that experience to form DRC with the goal of empowering young women and men and encouraging confidence, technique, leadership, and self-awareness. DRC also seeks to bring awareness to the crisis in the Congo, using the diamond as its logo. DRC participants are ages 4-18, and there are eight different squads coached by amazing staff with various All Star and professional dance backgrounds. Squads include mini cheer; junior recreational cheer; junior All Star cheer; mini, junior, and senior dance; dance battle; hip hop; and step.
