In the summer of 2021 as people were first gathering after over a year of isolation, BOOM put on our first hybrid showcase: BOOM Springboard. We had very limited in-person seating and then streamed the edited video of the showcase a couple weeks later. We have now had that video audio described to reach an even greater audience.
Audio Description is a method of describing visual elements of a performance, in this case so that folks that are blind or with a visual impairment can get a more complete experience of the event. The Springboard showcase includes spoken word, dance film, music and comedy just to name a few of the art forms represented. AD makes this event more accessible for Blind and Visually Impaired folks but this showing can be enjoyed by everyone. Click here to access the original stream without Audio Description.
