Our third BOOM festival will feature 10 original performances, each performed 3 times over the weekend of April 20-22, 2018, in several small music venues of Plaza Midwood. These works will all created by the artists presenting them and are at the cutting edge of artistic exploration. Fringe features edgy, experimental, experiential, original performance work by local artists (YOU). BOOM Fringe submissions are adjudicated by a Curatorial Team, with an eye toward creating a diverse, edgy festival. Additional performance groups are invited from around the country.
We are currently collecting submissions for BOOM FRINGE 2018. Submissions are open November 15th- December 15th, 2017.
BOOM INTERSECTION is the space in which art, culture and community collide. We’ll have free live music and performance art on our outdoor stage, and visual and performance art installations around the neighborhood. The Intersection will provide an anchor for the festival by creating a location where audience and community members can congregate in an outdoor living room with couches and a fire pit, find out more about BOOM, play in the children’s activity spaces, and participate in a free, outdoor family-friendly environment. The Intersection will include whatever you envision, submit and make it happen.
We are currently collecting submissions for BOOM INTERSECTION 2018. Submissions are open November 15th, 2017 – March 15th, 2018, notifications will be made on a rolling basis.
BOOM is open and inclusive. We intentionally seek out diversity in race, gender, age, background and styles to present a broad range of performances and inspire as many people as possible. Join us and bring your friends and family. We can’t go BOOM without YOU!
