Mall Goth: Music & Theater

Akin to a 35 minute Rocky Horror Picture Show, Mall Goth is a magical and absurd musical theater love letter to goth culture from some Carolina punks.

Imagine black box theater imitating a B-movie, slasher flick with a killer soundtrack, Mall Goth follows an eponymous folk hero on his journey to attain self-realization and philosophical victory over his moralizing mother, the school principal, his stepdad, and other disturbing incarnations of the dangerous banality of Middle America.

Episode 8: The Deathly Condos

After a 5 month hiatus working on their debut record, set to release later this year, Mall Goth returns to Plaza Midwood and BOOM Fest with a new performance – Episode VIII: The Deathly Condos – a tale of passion, betrayal, dark obsession. Mall Goth becomes an object of fascination for a local tech entrepreneur, who seeks to distill him to his most essential parts and sell him to the masses as a luxury lifestyle brand. Ignorant of the plan and desperate for cash, Mall Goth agrees to begin creating content on the mysterious tech magnate’s behalf; but soon realizes that more than a mere paycheck might be at stake. To discover the truth, Mall Goth must navigate a tangled, benighted web of madness, doing battle with foul creatures from Facebook Live, VR Chat, and beyond.

Another weird, abyssal vision. Another piercing shriek veiled in night.
